This shop was born out of the fundamental principles of Zero Waste - cultivating self-sufficiency, taking accountability for our waste and making connections within our communities. These practices have been around for generations.
We believe that the first point of call for a new purchase should begin with second hand shops and market stalls, where you can usually find a large array of package free products. However occasionally the time arises when you are in need of something more, that is where we can help you, by enabling you to make purchases with the reassurance of a package free from plastics, with lasting sustainable products to replace disposable habits. We support brands that design stuff to last a long time, using our precious and limited natural resources cleverly.
We understand that living a Zero Waste lifestyle can be a huge challenge, even more so when living in areas without resources such as bulk stores and land to grow fresh produce, or simply having the time and money to invest in new ideas. We recognise that social, political, economic and geographical circumstances alter access to zero waste. We also believe that if you are able to alter small habits, whether it be taking a reuseable cup for your morning coffee or refusing a plastic straw at the bar, you are playing an important role in reducing the ever increasing stress that waste has on our land, oceans and air and the people that occupy these spaces.
In our eyes Zero Waste is not about perfectionism.. we mess up a lot.. but this is a reflection of the complexities of the movement. Zero Waste is about discussing these issues, it is about making choices that support healthier habits over time and being part of the solution. Looking to have more of an impact or find out more?
